A British army bomb squad found an explosive device in a van in Belfast ahead of the Orange Order's annual Twelfth of July demonstrations.
A telephone warning alerted the PSNI to the device in a van in Little Donegal Street just before midnight last night.
An army technical officer called to the scene confirmed the van contained an explosive device. The area was sealed off and two controlled explosions were carried out.
Forensic scientists are examining items removed from the scene.
The centre of Glengormley, north of Belfast, was also closed off this morning after a suspicious vehicle was discovered parked in Ballyclare Road.
The bomb squad carried out two controlled explosions on the vehicle.
Officers are still working to establish if the van contained an explosive device.
