Body of man found in river

The body of a man was recovered from the Blackwater river at Cappoquin, Co Waterford, early yesterday after gardai in the town received a call from a member of the public informing them there was a person in the river at 12.45 a.m. A search was begun and at 2.15 a.m. the local fire brigade unit recovered the body of a man. The body was taken to Waterford Regional Hospital.
