The body of a man was taken from the Garavogue River in Sligo town last night following a search involving the Irish Marine Emergency Service helicopter and the local lifeboat. The find was made in the river at Lower Quay Street an hour after an angler had alerted gardai. The body was taken to Sligo General Hospital.
