London - Pop legends Blondie yesterday were back at the top of the charts after an absence of nearly 17 years.
Their single Maria became their sixth No 1 years after most followers of the pop scene had consigned them to history. Debbie Harry and her colleagues clocked up five No 1s between early 1979 and late 1980 - Heart of Glass, Sunday Girl, Atomic, Call Me and The Tide is High.
