London - The British Prime Minister, Mr Tony Blair, is to call for a new "mission statement" for Europe to signal the next phase of the EU's development, Downing Street said yesterday. Mr Blair will use this weekend's informal European summit in Austria to urge his fellow leaders to "give focus to Europe's development", his official spokesman said. The Prime Minister believes the EU's new generation of leaders can now move away from the "failed policies of the past", he said.
