The Government has published a revised Dublin Light Rail (No. 2) Bill in the aftermath of its embarrassing defeat on the measure in the Dail on Tuesday night.
The Minister for Transport, Mr Lowry, has redrafted certain sections of the Bill to meet Fianna Fail demands for better public consultation on the building of the light rail system.
CIE will now be required to make accessible to the public copies of documentation accompanying an application for a Light Rail Order.
In another amendment, an independent inspector will conduct the public inquiry into the application for a Light Rail Order.

The Minister will be obliged to consider any submissions made by local planning authorities before deciding whether to grant a Light Rail Order.
