Racing:Behkabad recorded a home victory for France with an impressive display in the Grand Prix de Paris at Longchamp as Aidan O'Brien's Jan Vermeer was well held in third.

The winner was always handy under Gerald Mosse, with Jan Vermeer and Johnny Murtagh in the rear together with the supplemented Goldwaki and favourite Planteur.

As the race hotted up with two furlongs to run, Mosse had plenty of horse underneath him and although Planteur almost got upsides, he jinked out wide and did not help his rider as Behkabad kept going.

Jan Vermeer, third in the Irish Derby at the Curragh and fourth in the Epsom Derby, just shaded Andre Fabre’s Goldwaki in a photo for third.
