London - A British Government campaign to stop people giving money to street beggars was yesterday attacked by a charity working with the homeless.

Cabinet Office Minister Dr Mo Mowlam was launching a "change a life" campaign urging people to give money to recognised homelessness charities.

However, the charity group Shelter warned the campaign of newspaper and televisions adverts was "misjudged" and could rebound on those living on the streets.
