Bilbao - In Spain, the Basque Nationalist Party (PNV) announced yesterday it had withdrawn its support for Jose Maria Aznar's conservative government.
Speaking to Basque regional television, the PNV leader, Mr Xabier Arzalluz, said the decision was taken because the government had refused to devolve to the Basque country the powers of the National Employment Institute.
