AIB, ANGLO Irish Bank and CRH have been shortlisted for this year's Investor Relations award in association with PricewaterhouseCoopers.

AIB and CRH have also been nominated for the best internet services for investor relations and also for the best corporate literature.

Anglo Irish Bank features in several categories, including an award for best investor meetings and best corporate governance. Bank of Ireland and CRH are also nominated in the latter category.

More than 80 analysts and portfolio managers were surveyed by Investor Relations magazine to decide the winners.

They were also surveyed for their opinions about investor relations in Ireland.

Although the responses were not as favourable compared with previous years, 71 per cent said they were happy with access to management and the market commentary provided, while 63 per cent expressed satisfaction with the level of information they receive on company performance.

It was not all good news, however. Several respondents felt the quality and amount of information they received had deteriorated with the market, with some claiming that the amount of overall information provided by companies had decreased significantly in the second half of 2007.

The awards ceremony takes place on Thursday, April 10th at the Four Seasons Hotel.
