The Bank of England announced that its Monetary Policy Committee has decided to hold its interest rate at 3

The Bank of England announced that its Monetary Policy Committee has decided to hold its interest rate at 3.75 per cent for the second month running.

There was no statement accompanying the decision. The BoE last cut interest rates in a surprise move in February, when it lowered its rate by 25 basis points.

Today's decision was widely expected.
