A consultancy firm that works with the banking and retail sectors has announced plans to employ more than 100 new staff at its customer service centre at Blackrock, Co Cork.

The firm, called Cims,  designs and implements membership marketing programmes for
European banks and other organisations with large customer bases.

Its clients include Royal Bank of Scotland, Capital One, Norwich Union and Lloyds TSB.

The new jobs will involve 24-hour customer assistance relating to issues such as lost and  stolen card reporting and arranging emergency cash for people overseas.
