THE Taoiseach admitted there had been "some slippage of time" regarding a Government decision on bail. Mr Bruton said he was unable to say at this stage whether there would be a referendum but the issue was at an advanced stage of consideration.
"The matter is not being long fingered. It is simply a matter of ensuring that the correct decision is taken," he told the PD leader, Ms Mary Harney, on the order of business.
