Bail for two over model's death

The book of evidence prepared by the State against a man and woman who face charges connected to the death of model Katy French will be ready next month, Navan district court heard today.

Both Kieran Ducie (40) of Lambertstown Manor, Kilmessan, Co Meath and Ann Corcoran (29) of Tolka Road, Clonliffe Road, Dublin 3 each face the same two charges.

The first charge alleges that on a date and time unknown between the 1st and 2nd December 2007 at the Statoil Service Station, Bracetown, Clonee, co Meath they conspired with persons not before the court to possess cocaine for the purpose of supply to another.

The second charge alleges that on the same dates and times at 10 Lambertstown Manor, Kilmessan, they intentionally or recklessly engaged in conduct to wit the supply of cocaine to Katy French and failure to get medical assistance in a timely fashion which created a substantial risk of death or serious harm to another.

Garda Inspector Martin Smithers told the court that the book of evidence would be ready for the next court date and he was seeking a one month adjournment.

Judge Tom Fitzpatrick was told the application for the one month remand was being consented to by the accused and he remanded them on continuing bail to appear again on the 28th July at Navan district court.

Model and socialite Katy French died in Our Lady’s Hospital in Navan in December 2007 after being in a coma for a number of days.
