Sydney - The media baron, Mr Rupert Murdoch, yesterday called for Australia, which now keeps tight restrictions on immigrants, to recommit itself to large-scale immigration.
In a speech to the Asia Society, Mr Murdoch said: "It is a pity to see immigrant numbers declining. Australia needs to recommit itself to the challenge and opportunity of large-scale immigration."
