Belgrade - An armed man seeking a Canadian visa broke into the Canadian embassy in Belgrade yesterday and briefly held several people hostage before turning himself in, Serbian police said.
Lazar Tomic (31), a technician working with the Serbian state television station, "broke into the embassy, took out a gun and threatened security personnel that he would commit suicide if he was not given a visa for Canada", the police said.
