The case against a priest alleged to have assaulted a woman in Co Louth earlier this year was adjourned at Dunleer District Court yesterday.

The Rev Turlough Connolly, of Dillonstown, Dunleer, is charged with assaulting Ms Geraldine O'Neill on March 23rd at Dillonstown.

Mr Kevin Byrne, solicitor, sought an adjournment in the matter and copies of statements in the prosecution case. Judge Flann Brennan put the case back to January 14th.
