Thierry Henry's three-match ban will begin with immediate effect after Arsenal decided not to lodge an appeal with the Football Association.
The 24-year-old striker was yesterday handed the ban for improper conduct following his actions after the final whistle of the Gunners' Premier League defeat to Newcastle at Highbury in December.
But, according to the FA's website, www.the-fa.org, the club have indicated they will not be appealing against the punishment.
Henry will now miss the FA Cup clash at Newcastle on Saturday, as well as the Barclaycard Premiership matches at Aston Villa and home to West Ham.
If Arsenal had decided to appeal the ban, and the punishment was upheld, the French international faced the prospect of being unavailable for the Gunners' crucial league encounter with Manchester United.
