Buenos Aires - The arrest of a former navy captain who was allegedly one of Argentina's most notorious torturers during the country's 1976-1983 dictatorship has been ordered by an Argentine judge, local newspapers reported yesterday. Capt Alfredo Astiz, alias "the Blond Angel", was ordered to be detained by an Argentine judge at the request of an Italian court, which linked Capt Astiz to kidnappings in 1976 and 1977, according to Clarin and La Nacion newspapers.
