Dar Es Salaam - At least 15 people were killed on Lake Tanganyika, in Tanzania, after armed robbers attacked the boat they were travelling in, police officials said yesterday.
Mr Placid Chaka, regional police commander in western Kigoma region, said six men armed with sub-machineguns seized a local ferry just after midnight on Wednesday last week. News of the incident reached Dar es Salaam only on Sunday, he said.
