A three-man gang left a Dublin city centre hotel empty-handed after a failed early morning raid.
The night porter at Chief O'Neill's hotel in Smithfield was tied up by the armed gang during the incident which happened at around 4.20 a.m.
Gardaí say nothing was taken in the raid and the porter was treated for shock and minor injuries.
