Armed gang steals €70,000 in Waterford robbery

Gardaí are hunting for a gang of men who held up a bank in Co Waterford this afternoon and escaped with an €70,000.

Gardaí are hunting for a gang of men who held up a bank in Co Waterford this afternoon and escaped with an €70,000.

At least two men, who were armed with guns and wearing masks, raided the Bank of Ireland in Lismore at around 4.30 p.m. They escaped with the cash in a maroon-coloured Mazda 323.There were no shots fired and no injuries reported.Roadblocks have now been set up in west and mid Waterford and east Cork.
