Shares in Arena Leisure have been temporarily suspended on the London Stock Exchange pending an announcement.
The company is a partner in Go Racing along with BSkyB and Channel Four. Go Racing warned yesterday its future was jeopardised by the failure of the British Horseracing Board to supply pre-race data.
Go Racing is set to launch its website this autumn, with its dedicated horseracing television channel available from spring 2002.
It has joined forces with 49 racecourses, which represent over 90 per cent of betting turnover, and aims to revolutionise British horseracing.
But the scheme may founder over fears that British Horseracing Board may be demanding too high a price for its data.
Go Racing chief executive Mr Christopher Stoddart said: "I am driven to question whether the BHB is interested in building the sport through enterprise, or whether they are merely intent on bolstering their own position."The company has already committed £80 million sterling on marketing over the next 10 years to fuel the changes in British horseracing.
The company's channel and the website are intended to be interactive so viewers may access form, odds and other racing information.
