Budapest - Hungarian police broke up an anti-NATO rally in Budapest yesterday ahead of a meeting of NATO foreign ministers scheduled for today and tomorrow, Hungarian television reported.

The rally of up to 40 people on the Chain Bridge ended peacefully, after police told demonstrators to leave because the rally had not been arranged with the authorities beforehand. Another local anti-militarist group, the Humanist Movement, plans to hold a rally today to protest against NATO and US foreign policy.
