Algiers sentences 15 to death

PARIS - Two Algerian courts have sentenced 15 Muslim fundamentalists to death for "belonging to armed terrorist groups", the official Algerian news agency APS said yesterday. About 60,000 people have died in Algeria's violence since 1992, when the authorities cancelled a general election in which radical Islamists had taken a commanding lead.
