LONDON - Disgraced former Cabinet minister Jonathan Aitken is to resign from the Privy Council, it emerged early today. A spokesman for the council confirmed it had received a letter from Mr Aitken.
Mr Aitken reportedly told friends he would resign after mounting pressure on him following the collapse last week of his libel action against The Guardian and Granada TV's World in Action.
