Passengers are having to deal with further delays and disruption at Dublin Airport today according to three airlines, who have filed a complaint with the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA).
In letters to the IAA today, Ryanair, Aer Arann and Cityjet said an unofficial work to rule seemed to be operating among air traffic controllers at the airport today.
Cityjet said their crews believed it was a deliberate policy by air traffic controllers “aimed at disrupting normal operating schedules”.
John Halpin, director of operations with Aer Arann, said the usual and customary flexibility and cooperation between air traffic controllers and Aer Arann pilots seems to have been dropped, with pilots now being put through tedious and unnecessary practices by air traffic controllers.
Choorah Singh, deputy director operations control at Ryanair, said the airline had received reports of "some flights not being given direct routes as would normally be provided".
