Claims by Ryanair that Aer Rianta's costs are too high and that it behaves like a monopoly have drawn an angry response from the State airport management company.
Its charges are among the lowest in Europe, Aer Rianta says, and it has contributed Pounds 120 million to the Exchequer in the past seven years. It has not increased its staff in 12 years although it has trebled its business, and it has cut charges to airlines, it says.
