Action over coastal erosion

Iarnod Eireann is to take action to prevent coastal erosion at the embankment at White Rock beach, Killiney, Co Dublin. A spokesman said two options were being considered to deal with the problem. One was to bring heavy machinery on to the beach and repair the wall from that side. The other was to repair it by pouring cement down from the railway line into the area which has been eroded.
