An action taken by a man for alleged libel in newspaper articles about the riots at the Ireland-England soccer international at Lansdowne Road in February 1995 was struck out at the High Court yesterday.

Mr Paul Skeffington, of Connolly Park, Tubbercurry, Co Sligo, had sued the Independent Star Ltd, Terenure Printers Ltd and a journalist, Mr Paddy (otherwise Patrick) Murray over articles and a photograph published in the Star of February 16th, 1995, and over an article published in the same newspaper the following day.
