An action against the Bishop of Killaloe, Dr Willie Walsh, over a road traffic accident was settled out of court at Ennis Circuit Court yesterday.

The bishop was sued by an Ennis businessman, Mr Val Bredin, for £7,117 after an accident on February 5th last year. It was claimed that Dr Walsh drove his car in a careless and dangerous manner resulting in a collision with a car owned by Mr Bredin. In the Circuit Court yesterday, Judge Sean O'Leary was told that a settlement had been reached, the details of which were not revealed.
