WASHINGTON - Major US television networks will broadcast at least three hours a week of educational shows for children under terms of an accord with the government, President Clinton announced yesterday.

Mr Clinton said the major networks and the National Association of Broadcasters dropped their opposition to the three hour rule proposed by the Federal Communications Commission.
