A man who pleaded guilty to 13 robberies and attempted robberies in Dublin in 1998 and 1999 has been jailed for nine years by Dublin Circuit Criminal Court. Alan Edgar (37), from Kevin Barry Flats, Dublin, brandished weapons ranging from knives to syringes during the robberies. The sums, of up to £275, were taken from shops, a private house and in a handbag snatch. The court heard Edgar had a drink and heroin problem.
