Garda Joan Meany, of Charlemont Street, Dublin, whose car was rear-ended at Gouig, Castleconnel, Co Limerick, two years ago, has been awarded £8,369 damages in the Circuit Civil Court for whiplash injuries. Judge Peter Smithwick said she had been an honest witness who had stayed on duty throughout the pain she had experienced.
