The Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources, Mr Fahey, has announced funding of almost £700,000 for the development of angling projects.
Of the 26 separate allocations being made, involving amounts ranging from £2,000 to £150,000, the largest number is going to Co Galway, where the Minister has his constituency. It receives funding for nine separate projects, totalling £131,760. The average number of projects assisted in other counties is two.
