Rome - Forty people were injured, four of them seriously, when a passenger train travelling from Nice, on the French Riviera, to Venice and a locomotive collided just past the French border, rescue services said yesterday.

The engine and first two cars of the train, carrying 150 passengers, derailed on impact in the Bordighera railway station late on Monday.
