130 jobs are to be lost in Wexford town with the closure of a Wexford Weaving.

130 jobs are to be lost in Wexford town with the closure of a Wexford Weaving.

The company, which operates its manufacturing facility in the town’s business park, is understood to have been losing money on a monthly basis. The US based owners announced their decision this morning.

A SIPTU spokesman told ireland.comthere was "absolute shock" in the town.

He said anger was being directed at Enterprise Ireland for not investing in the company.

He said the workers’ had been informed that no redundancy package was available.

A creditors’ meeting is due to take place at the end of the month.
