A group of 20 holiday hopefuls have been queuing outside Budget Travel in Baggot Street, Dublin, since St Stephen's Night, in the hope of securing a bargain sun holiday in its travel sale which starts today.

Ms Teresa McEnroe and her sister Christine, from Kevin Street, Dublin, were the first to arrive at the Budget Travel office on St Stephen's night, and have been there ever since.

"It initially began as a bit of a challenge and now has become an annual event," said Ms McEnroe.

Ms Christy O'Hara from Tallaght is queuing for a third year, after getting a free family holiday to Florida last year.

Those who last the 12-night vigil can expect a free holiday, or deals from as low as €99 per person, to destinations such as Spain, Greece and the Canaries.
