Montreal - At least 11 people aboard a chartered twin-engine commuter plane were killed yesterday when it rolled over and exploded during an emergency landing at Montreal's Mirabel airport, police and airport officials said.
The plane, on a charter flight from Montreal to Peterborough, Ontario, was diverted to Mirabel after the pilot reported smoke in the cabin less than 30 minutes after taking off.
