Eleven people were feared dead today when a gangway collapsed on the Queen Mary II, the largest passenger ship ever built.

Eleven people were feared dead today when a gangway collapsed on the Queen Mary II, the largest passenger ship ever built.

French police said the accident occurred at the Saint Nazaire shipyard in western France, where the finishing touches are being made to the cruise liner.

The ship was due to sail to Southampton in the next few weeks from where it would set off on its maiden passenger voyage.
