Saturday morning Discover the work of the Czech Art Nouveau artist and illustrator Alphonse Mucha. The museum dedicated to his art and life is at Kaunický Palác, Panská 7. Saturday afternoon Nestled off the cobbled streets of the Malá Strana is the John Lennon Wall. The Beatles-inspired graffiti popped up in the 1980s and became a place to express anti-authoritarian sentiment. Saturday night Descending down some dangerously dark steps at Národní 339/11 will bring you to quirky watering hole Vzorkovna. The bar’s various nooks and crannies host impromptu jam sessions by a guitar-strumming alternative crowd. The star attractions are the two resident wolfhounds.

For cocktails with a gimmicky twist, Anonymous speakeasy on Michalská 12 in the Old Town is themed around a combination of the hacker group Anonymous, Guy Fawkes and V for Vendetta. Sunday morning Sitting on the east bank with glorious views of the Vltava, art-deco cafe Kavárna Slavia, Smetanovo nábreží 1012/2, has been the eatery of choice for local politicians, playwrights and actors since 1884. Aoife O’Regan is from Dublin and works for Jurys Inns who opened a hotel in Prague six years ago
