If you’re flying half way around the world with a tot or toddler (hats off to you), you won’t want to lug bags of baby bumpf with you. Baby swimming lessons have just been launched by this hotel on mainland Greece, for water-babies from the age of six months to four years. The five-day programme takes place in a warm indoor pool. Parents can then continue in one of the resort’s outdoor pools or on the 9km beach. Staff are on hand to “babe watch” for up to 30 minutes while parents swim. From €126 each per night.

Caserio del Mirador, Spain
Head for the hills of rural eastern Spain to this retreat with sand-pits, pets (ponies, pigs, rabbits and goats), pool and lots of toys, including art materials and Lego. There are five family suites and apartments.
