SARAH FENNESSY AND Richard Collins were married recently by the Rev Michael Burke in Dromoland Castle in Co Clare. A Mass was held in the Kincora Gallery for 60 family members and friends, which expanded to 200 during the reception.
From Clonmel, Co Tipperary, Sarah is the daughter of Therese and Billy Fennessy. She has two sisters, both of whom were bridesmaids, and one brother. She studied corporate administration in Waterford Institute of Technology and now works for Aercap, a company that sells aircraft in Shannon.
Richard is from Athlacca, Kilmallock, Co Limerick. He is the son of Elinor and Richard Collins, and works in the family’s construction and civil engineering company. The couple met eight years ago at the Polocrosse Ball in Clonmel. They became engaged in Marbella, Spain the day after a friend’s wedding, but kept it quiet until they returned home.
Music by the Vard Sisters during the wedding ceremony was one of the highlights of the day, and there was a great deal of singing and dancing during the reception. A caricature artist captured guests’ likenesses throughout the day. For their honeymoon, the bride and groom spent a week in Dubai, followed by 10 days in South Africa.
