Although the Government has not yet published its latest decentralisation programme, the Office of Public Works is proceeding to rent additional office space in Dublin. The State is to pay around £30 (€38) per sq ft for 60,000 sq ft on two floors of an office block under construction at Kevin Street, a short distance from St Stephen's Green, Dublin 2. The Bishop Square development will have a total of 160,000 sq ft on six levels when it is completed in May by Beltrap Ltd.

Norkom Technologies has also rented two floors with a total of 45,000 sq ft, while another floor is to be occupied by a financial services company that has yet to complete contracts. This leaves only one floor of 33,000 sq ft available for letting through Declan O'Reilly of DTZ Sherry FitzGerald.

Bishop Square has one of the largest floor plates of any city centre office block completed in recent years and is expected to prove an anchor for the redevelopment of the Kevin Street area.
