Home Base, the DIY and garden centre multiple, has agreed terms to occupy a major outlet in the final phase of Green Property's retail warehousing complex at Blanchardstown Town Centre. A planning application is to be lodged shortly for an additional 150,000 sq ft of retail space, of which Home Base will occupy about 95,000 sq ft. The company will be paying a rent of £14 per sq ft. The first two phases of Green's retail warehousing comprising 280,000 sq ft is trading exceptionally well. Home Base recently took over the Hampden Group, whose interests include Texas Home Care.

With most of the space committed at Blanchardstown, the giant multiple B & Q is now expected to concentrate its search for a major outlet on Liffey Valley where the first of two phases of retail warehousing are being developed.
