Joe Comerford's Cruson Developments has failed to secure planning permission for a four and five-storey development of 60 two-bedroom apartments beside the Texaco service station at 25 Ringsend Road, Dublin 4. An Bord Pleanala said the proposed scheme would result in an excessive density because of the inadequate open space area, car-parking facilities, the size of the apartments and some of the rooms. The board also held that the visual relationship of the four-storey block with the existing terrace of two-storey houses and with the single-storey houses close by in South Dock Street would be "unsatisfactory". The board said the development would be visually obtrusive and detrimental to the streetscape.
