The lands around Portmarnock Dart station have been transformed by new homes development. Dún Sí at St Marnock’s Bay is on the same side as the train station and will, when complete, bring 150 units while Ballymore’s St Marnock’s Bay adds another 101 units to the mix.

Across the street Regency and Bain Capital Credit unveiled Station Manor, on Station Road, in February 2018. The 6.5 acre site comprises 61 houses and 50 apartments and has sold out its first 40 houses while construction has just started on the apartments.

The remaining 21 units, mainly four-bedroom homes, are now on the market.

Designed by O’Mahony Pike, and being sold by agents DNG, this estate features three-storey, four-bedroom homes, that include semis, mid- and end-of-terrace units. These range in size from 140sq m (1,507sq ft) to 162sq m (1,744sq ft) and in price from €540,000 to €665,000.

With the show units by Elaine Jerrard of Elk House Interiors the properties include double-glazed windows by Munster Joinery, essential to deaden the noise of the flight paths overhead and smart units by Bespoke Kitchens.

There is just one five-bedroom house for sale. Measuring 175sq m (1,883sq ft), it is priced at €685,000.

The entrance to the estate is directly across the road from the Dart station where workers can also catch a commuter service that delivers you to Connolly station in 15 minutes.

A Lidl has just opened in Portmarnock village where Dunnes Stores has also upgraded its store.

“The Velvet Strand, a five-mile swathe of sand that has blue flag status, is one of the local draws,” says agent Gareth Noone. But proximity to transport is the key driver. “You can be at Grand Canal Dock in 30 minutes on the Dart.”
