One of Galway's best-known hotels, the 71-bedroom Murrays Salthill Hotel, is being sold at auction on September 29th by Gunne. Murrays has been in the same family for 40 years and the agents report it has been trading highly successfully for all of that time. The business, on a 2.5-acre site only two miles from Eyre Square, also offers major development potential. Dermot Curtin of Gunne said the large site offers "undoubted potential" for further development. The hotel has 71 en suite bedrooms, large function/conference facilities, several lounge bars, a dining-room and a modern kitchen. No reserve price is being disclosed by Gunne but market sources suggest a sale price in the region of £4 million.
