THOSE WHO mourn the passing of Post-Modern architecture may like to rent the late Sam Stephenson’s offices in Leixlip, where a Po-Mo pediment graces the entrance.

Ireland embraced the Po-Mo style – in which classical features were applied to buildings – but architects later threw off such adornments for a more pared-down style. That makes these offices a real period piece, and that includes the furnishings, such as the circular office chairs that match those used on the top floor of the Central Bank in Dublin (which were taken out and sold at auction a couple of years ago when those offices were revamped).

The Grainstore, Ryevale House, Leixlip, Co Kildare measures 185.8sq m (2,000sq ft) and has three offices on the ground floor, two on the second and one on the third. Rent is negotiable through Kildare auctioneers Des Dempsey Son.
