Apartments and houses in a development by Durkan Residential in Finglas has prices to suit first-time buyers. These range from €270,000 for a one-bed apartment to €450,000 for a four-bedroom house. They are open for viewing on Saturday and Sunday and Gunne New Homes is the selling agent.

Finish and fit-out is up to the usual Durkan standard and will impress. Creston is on St Margaret's Road, about 9km from the city centre and close to the M50. The proposed Metro line will include two stops within walking distance of Creston.

There will be a total of 141 houses, duplexes and apartments .

One-bedroom apartments of 50sq m (538sq ft) cost from €270,000. Two-bed plus study apartments of 65-80sq m (699sq ft-861sq ft) start at €320,000. There are also three-bedroom duplex units of 115-121 sq m (1,238sq ft-1,302sq ft) with large terraces, priced from €375,000.

Two-bedroom townhouses of 92sq m (990sq ft) starting at €370,000 will prove popular with first-time couples. Three-bedroom houses of 122sq m (1,313sq ft) cost from €425,000. The largest four-bedroom houses cost from €450,000 for 150sq m (10,763sq ft) of living space. The development will include a crèche.

Architects Frank Crowley & Partners have varied the textures and elevations of exteriors to add itnerest to the large selection of units at Creston.

Most apartments and duplexes come with private terraces or balconies, while townhouses have private gardens, mainly south or west-facing. Cobbled parking spaces will be provided.

Designer Maria MacVeigh's main approach in the interior was to maximise storage and space.

High-gloss kitchens include recessed lighting, stone or butcher block worktops and appliances.

Tiling in kitchens and bathrooms is also included and wardrobes were custom-designed.

Two-bedroom apartments are open-plan, with interlinked kitchen, dining and sittingroom. Most duplexes have their own entrances, a kitchen/diningroom and separate sittingroom and a main bed en suite.
